Blythe & Ed Harris - August 1, 2015 at Minglewood Hall

August 2, 2015

The Force was definitely with us this past Saturday, August 1st. Blythe & Ed Harris held their ceremony and reception at Memphis' premeire event venue, Minglewood Hall. With the number of musicians, artists and entertainers at this wedding, you know that there was plenty to see and do!

First, Blythe & Ed's ceremony was held on stage among the band for the evening's instruments (of course) and was officiated by our friend Chris Ryan. Chris performed their ceremony with style and a hefty splash of humor, and the evening got started off with a bang!

Simply Delicious Catering provided the homegrown cuisine enjoyed by all, and local band The Lineup took the stage to entertain our guests with songs from the 80's era, each song handpicked by Blythe and Ed themselves. In addition, the Harris' requested that all music played in between band sets to consist of their own hard rock and heavy metal favorites. I was on board to make sure that their requests were fulfilled from start to finish. Definitely not your standard wedding reception music, but I cannot say that I didn't enjoy every second of it (I LOVED IT!).

Jase Harshman, world-renowned professional heavy metal photographer, made sure that their cherished wedding photos had that razor sharp rock n' roll edge. Jase wasn't the only photog in the place – every person there wielded their smart phones and snapped candid shots to make their own contribution on Blythe & Ed's Facebook pages.

Blythe looked stunning in her white bridal gown, and later transformed into a gorgeous black dress for the reception, both provided by Joelle Scholl of the Barefoot Bride. Ed's blue and black ensemble suited his style well, as did his blue tux with ruffled shirt hearkening back to the classic movie “Dumb & Dumber”. He and a friend even roused the crowd with a rendition of the classic movie's scene where Llyod and Harry gleefully stepped into the Aspen ski lodge and commenced to wail on each other LOL. Ed even stepped behind the drum set and played the Sly & The Family Stone hit "Thank You". The guy's got some crazy drum skills!

It was an honor to be a part of this event, mainly because Ed has been a dear and respected friend of mine for several years. Just being there to experience this amazing milestone in his and Blythe's life was very special for me. On top of all of this, I had the opportunity to see many friends from years ago and catch up with them. It was an incredible night all the way around!

Thanks, Mr. & Mrs. Harris, for letting me a part of your special day!
